
MPPB represents Molecular Pharmacology, Physiology and Biotechnology.
Our research goal is to learn brand-new biomedical knowledge and to use basic technology ideas to advance therapeutic strategies. The division consist of 15 full time on-campus professors people and 105 graduate pupils.

MPPB professors offer considerable experience in biotechnology plus the biomedical device business, with analysis passions spanning from molecules to cells, areas to organs to whole organisms.
Grounded in a base of biochemistry, physics, mathematics, and biology, MPPB is a basic-science department within Brown Alpert healthcare School, and the full participant within the undergraduate-based Program in Biology within the Division of Biology and medication.
Inside the Medical School, the department's academic goal would be to offer medical pupils and MD/PhD applicants with a good foundation in basic research also to help prepare all of them for life of learning and issue resolving.
MPPB supports graduate and postdoctoral education by giving a highly interdisciplinary framework for specific and thematic training programs both classical and recently appearing. Brown additionally provides state-of-the-art gear and resources through its Shared site Facilities.
Areas of study include molecular and architectural pharmacology; signal transduction; medication design; neuropharmacology and neurophysiology; molecular and cellular foundation for drug addiction; macromolecular framework; mobile, relative, and organ methods physiology; biomaterials; unique medication distribution modalities; organ replacement, tissue manufacturing, gene therapy, and regenerative medicine.
